Banning a political party in Germany is a rare and drastic step. Nevertheless, the question of whether the AfD should be banned is currently being discussed more openly than ever before. This is accompanied by a public petition aimed at triggering such proceedings politically. As your AStA, according to § 53 para. 2 no. 4 of the NRW Higher Education Act, we have the mandate to inform you about political developments and to promote civic awareness.
